○ Who are We ? 
 
19th Century Criminality is a peer reviewed online journal which focuses on everything crime related in Victorian England: focusing on the “criminal class” from a sociological point of view, the representation of crime and criminals in literature, the rise of the popularity of newspapers and publication of sensational true crime stories, and more. Its principal aim is to present original quality research articles covering all sub-fields mentioned above.
 
○ Who are You ?
 
A doctoral student, viva candidate, or doctor in Civilisation, History, English, Sociology, or else: contact us, we need you!
(Please don't forget to specify your educational background!)

○ What We want from You ?
  
We are currently looking for papers for our next focus: the representations of death in Victorian popular culture. Your paper should draw a highlight on the staging of executions in Penny Bloods of the 1850s, and  sensation novels of the 1860s.
